Upcoming February Sale: 'Rose and Spindle'

Okay, so when Christmas came around a month ago, I decided to put a couple of old books up for a discount. I want to continue the tradition, so to speak, throughout 2020 so that my backlist gets a teeny boost every now and then. Most of the books (all of them, really) will be from my republished titles, and they'll all be featured for a full month per book in between new releases.

So starting February, we'll have Rose and Spindle up first. While I don't celebrate Valentine's Day, I figured a quirky coming-of-age / romcom will suffice for this year.

Rose and Spindle is a gay YA novel that's a retelling of the "Sleeping Beauty" fairy tale but from the points of view of two characters on the side: the princess's cousin and another prince. The story itself is more of an enemies-to-lovers romance, the focus of the entire book being the process or the journey the two young men take as they start off hating each other's guts and then end up with a well-deserved happily-ever-after.

This book came out a few years ago, and initial responses from some corners complained that the princes spent more time apart than together. But that's the whole point of the story. Besides, the purpose of their being apart for majority of the story has everything to do with the process of maturation and the gradual opening of each prince's perceptions. There's also family drama (though tongue-in-cheek since it's all a comedy to begin with), which shapes the prejudices of both MCs.

They have allies, they have enemies, and they have bumbling side characters and wise protectors. It's all part and parcel of the fairy tale. And this book will be available for 99 cents starting February 1 through February 29. I'll be posting about it once the sale price goes live.
